I am bored, so enjoy. Nile's drumming has been described as 60% blast beats and 40% crazy drum fills.

Needs more blast beats, that's what it needs!

I saw Nile live a few years back, and the kit had all kinds of metal add-ons stuck on it, such as circular saw blades as little cymbals etc. Apart from the drumming though they were boring as hell live, and I'm a HUGE fan of extreme metal.

That is slightly disappointing, although I am not completely surprised. They are a very technical band, but lack a bit of emotion to truly make them something insane!

I don't mind the actual material, but they just kind of stood there and didn't look into it. If a band can't be interested in their own music, I don't know why I should be. On the subject of insane drumming, by far the best I've seen live were Pete Sandoval of Morbid Angel and Trym playing for Emperor.

Pete Sandoval is basically why death metal is where it is. I have never been to a concert, but one day I do hope to go.

I swear at points his hands moved beyond a blur and just seemed to disappear, it was ridiculous. Another guy who makes me sick is Dave Suzuki; when you consider he's playing drums AND guitar on this - show-off!:

You should be, that video made me search for "insane drummers" and that in turn made me discover a new band.. So yeah, thanks again.

As an old super fast punk drummer who now plays all styles, I find it very impressive for pure speed, that double bass technique is definitely pro-level, but in the end it all doesn't actually sound that interesting.

It's death metal, what do you expect. Although, I found it a ton of fun to play, however simple it may be. Was never really as fast fast as this guy. I was consistent at about 200bpm after that, my accuracy fell way off.

I think I like Dave's guitar solos more than his drumming, which is saying a lot because he is one fast drummer, but his guitar solos are so epic!

I'd be happy to be half as good at either!
